Leading like an artist doesn't require impeccable taste or a discerning eye. You don't even need to have a creative bone in your body (although we would argue everyone has a few).
It's how you think through complex problems. How you act when decisions demand courage. How you adapt to feedback and failure. How you influence and create buy-in.
And how you deliver in a way that's both creatively ambitious and commercially viable.
I spent 20 years experimenting with how the most visionary artists and creative thinkers lead at places like The New York Times, Artnet, and Chandelier Creative in New York, and then turned it into a creative leadership practice called Lead Like an Artist.
This practice is at the heart of everything we do. It's the philosophy behind our leadership advisory and executive coaching work, the foundation of our creative leadership workshops, and the principles by which we align executive teams.
Here's what the practice looks like, and what creative leadership capabilities you will develop when you work with us.

Each of these five creative leadership capabilities is valuable on its own, and many of our clients start with just one. But they're designed to build on each other, and the leaders who develop them in combination see the biggest shift in how they lead and the impact they have.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I'm not a particularly creative person… is this for me?
We'd argue everyone has a few creative bones in their body, but honestly, it doesn't matter either way. Creative leadership has less to do with how creative you are, and more to do with how you create the conditions for creativity to thrive. It's how you think through complexity, how you act when decisions demand courage, how you adapt when things aren't working, how you inspire the people around you, and how you deliver bold work. These are capabilities that can be developed by anyone with practice and the right guidance.
Do I need to develop all five capabilities?
